Elafonissos is a tiny island, very close to the mainland of Peloponissos (in the district of Lakonia), renowned for its unique 'tropical' beaches. It is one of the most beautiful places around Greece and offers one of the best beaches of the world. As soon as you get there the almost-white sand dunes, the crystal clear green-blue waters and the quiet landscape startle you. It is a place ideal for quiet vacations by the sea, with no things to worry about.
Unfortunately as it happens in all the old "secluded" places, the rising wave of tourists is altering the image of the island, so visit as soon as possible and avoid the high season.
